FAQs

General

  • You can find our Statement of Faith by clicking here.

  • No, we are not. We are independent, meaning we do not have an affiliation with any denomination or organization. We bear the name “Baptist” due to it being the original name of the church when it began in the 1950’s. Historically, baptist doctrine has been solid. In modern times, the denomination “Baptist” comes with a lot of mystery as to what beliefs it may carry, so please do not be mislead.

  • We feel that denominational titles often signify adherence to a specific set of beliefs and doctrines that are held by that particular denomination. While we acknowledge the value that various denominations bring to the larger Christian community, we believe that Scripture is ultimately what guides and teaches us in our faith. For this reason, we have deliberately chosen not to affiliate ourselves with any particular denomination, as we strive to focus on the core teachings of the Bible rather than the distinctives of any one group.

  • Our preferred version that we teach from is the King James Version, but you will find that many of our members read and use other versions.

  • Our Sunday morning service is typically about an hour and a half long. We have a Welcome followed by Announcements and then we’ll worship by singing a few songs with words on the screen to follow along. Children are dismissed shortly after music and offering but before the Sunday Sermon begins.

  • Of course! We do offer nursery and children’s church up to age 12, and we heartily encourage parents to take their kids to their respective classes so they can get more age-appropriate teaching. But we understand that this can be difficult at a new place or it may even just be the preferred choice. You are welcome to make your own choice regarding your children! We’re just happy to have you here!

Structure

  • At Northside Church, we describe our approach to church governance with a simple phrase: we are shepherded by the Elders, steered by the staff, and supported through the membership. This reflects our belief that leadership is a shared responsibility grounded in spiritual discernment, strategic direction, and the active contribution of every member.

More specifically, the government of Northside Church is structured around three key teams:

    1. Elders
The Elders function primarily as discerners and shepherds, serving as the guardians of the church. They are entrusted with evaluating all aspects of church life in light of our mission, our resources, and our doctrinal statement.

    2. Staff Leadership Team
This team provides day-to-day guidance and operational leadership, ensuring the church’s vision is carried out with excellence and alignment.

    3. Stewardship Team
Tasked with overseeing financial integrity and accountability, the Stewardship Team ensures faithful management of the resources God has entrusted to us.

  • Your tithes are stewarded wisely and fall into our operational budget accordingly. The budget is regularly monitored and guided by our Stewardship Team. If needs arrive, the budget is presented to the Elders and then taken before our congregation and voted on if deemed necessary.

  • Online giving to Northside Church facilitated through Tithe.ly is simple and secure. You can conveniently give a one-time gift or schedule recurring giving using your debit or credit card. You can start by giving online here.

  • We require prospective new members to take a membership class before officially becoming a member of Northside Church. Membership classes are offered throughout the year for those who are interested.

Only those who are church members have voting privileges at Northside Church though we do allow non-members to attend those type of meetings to be aware of what’s going on.
